Esther Li graduated from the Melbourne Conservatorium (Unimelb) with a Masters of Music (Performance teaching) & was awarded Maude Harrington Scholarship upon completion in 2017. During her studies, she has benefited much under the guidance of Classical pianist, Ms Elizabeth Mitchell, and Melbourne's finest jazz pianists, Andrea Keller and Barney McAll.
Prior to the move to Melbourne, she majored in Jazz performance during her Bachelor music studies at the Western Australia Academy of performing arts (WAAPA) in 2012 and also completed a Post-graduate Diploma of Education degree at Edith Cowan University (ECU) in 2014.
As an educator with backgrounds in both Classical and Jazz piano, Esther believes she has a lot to offer to students with varying interest in music. She aspires to create interesting yet informative music lessons, aiming to build every students' music concept and foundation. She teaches and encourages improvisation and playing-by-ear to all students.
Esther has performed at prominent venues, such as the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Moma Nights, The Esplanade in Singapore and the Ellington Jazz club in Perth, Western Australia. Besides weddings and music venues, she has also played at various corporate functions.
